Colombian empanadas have always been made differently from the wheat-based versions found elsewhere in Latin America. The dough is naturally wheat-free, which is what gives these their color and their crunch, and it is the reason we can offer them to guests who avoid gluten.
We fold and fill ours by hand every morning, then fry them to order so they reach you crisp. Serve them with ají on the side, the way they are eaten in Colombia.
Available by the piece or by the dozen. Please order twenty-four hours in advance and pick up at our Central Ave store in Charlotte.
